Feneis- Retiree Healthcare- set up meeting for Thursday 5/19 at 0830. With Brother Clark we reviewed the budget proposal for the city on Healthcare. Made sure the numbers were staying the same except market adjustment. Continued to work on LODD for Brother McGill with several talks with Cancer Foundations and brothers in Floridia and NJ on this. Finished letters and magnets for firehouses with new Hotline number, will be mailed on thursday. Working on sitting down to talk to all City Council members individually regarding Retiree Healthcare, and also getting them to come to meeting to talk with the members.
Smith-Attended the Metro Atlanta Firefighters Conference and continued to research cancer prevention and gross decontamination procedures to formulate a plan for the CFD to be presented to Administration. Continued preparations for the 9-11 Stairclimb and began to finalize many of the details of the event and fundraising portions of it. Finished radio research with City procurement to formulate a final recommendation for council to approve. Contacted the Fire Chief to discuss LODD designation and have yet to speak to him. Contacted him starting in April with no response.
Have continued to reach out to city council about Local 660’s legislative agenda, focusing on the budgetary issues. This includes talks with the FOP, they are upset but not sure they have done anything about PSPP only receiving half the cost of living / market adjustment increase of other employees.
Working with Ken Walsh to set up a time to meet with the Tinsly’s family regarding IAFF Line of Duty benefits as well as present his axe and medal. Tentatively scheduled for next week.

If anyone can make it Monday Travis Payne is representing a Kernersville Fire Fighter in court. The case is regarding the city to turn over documents regarding an internal investigation. (One of the very same issues we face here in CLT) Travis believes it helps to have FF’s in attendance and it never hurts to show solidarity and brotherhood. If you would like to come let me know I will be leaving Monday around 8am.
